Two people looking at each other

Suppose that life exists in a multiverse -- a set of parallel existences that contain infinitely different futures. The possibilities in our lives are, quite literally, endless. Every possible event that could happen, does happen, in one universe or another. And if two lovers meet -- are drawn together in every version of existence -- every possible happy ending and heartbreak that could befall them, will.

As heartrending as it is beautiful, Constellations is Nick Payne’s gloriously romantic award-winning hit, with London Productions earning both the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Play in 2012, and the 2022 Olivier Award for Best Play Revival.  Nick Payne’s beautiful play, Constellations, explores how even the smallest change in our lives can dramatically alter the course we take. It is a spellbinding exploration of love, science, quantum theory, and infinite possibility for heartbreak or for hope.

Lunatix performed Constellation originally at Bakehouse Studios from 5th - 15th of February, in Naarm/Melbourne. It was then toured up to Newcastle, performing at Catapult Dance Studios from the 7th - 8th of March.

“The uniqueness with this production is that it touches our common humanity,” she continues. “It invites us to consider how multifaceted we are and that deep down, we are all the same, we make mistakes, we screw up, but we all crave some form of connection. And when we find it, time is irrelevant.”

Notes From
The Producer

If you would of told me 5 months ago, that I would be opening my first show under a company in my name. I would of laughed in your face. These last few months have seen a lot of first for me both personally as well as professionally.

My break through moment happened during a recent production, onstage, starring into the abyss, and I just knew that I wanted to keep chasing the moment I was currently experiencing. And I wasn’t going to wait for it anymore. I just wanted to make theatre, so why not just do it. I’d always enjoyed the details and process that goes into making theatre and how collaborative the development is, so deep down I think I always knew I wanted to be a producer.

Constellations was my immediate pick for our first show, I fell in love with the show eight years ago and it never left my mind, and I was now at an age where I felt that I fully appreciate the gravitas the the show brings. I had just finished doing a show with Luke and was drawn to his proactive and passionate approach to acting and I’m very lucky that he said yes, his performance is dynamic, engaging and captivating, and I wouldn’t have been able to share this journey without him.

So now I just needed a team. A team that would work towards with my passion behind creating theatre, and I wouldn’t of asked for a better group. While I had been lucky enough to work with my couldn’t have done it without you.
entire production team previously, I am so proud of how everyone single person has grown, development and adapted to the many challenges that we were presented with. And even though we didn’t always agree on everything, we’d rally as a team and has resulted in a beautifully emotional work. So I thank you all for your patience and commitment as I navigated the companies growing pains, I couldn’t have done it without any of you.
Lastly, and although I may be bias, but immediately asked one of my favourite directors whether she would be interested in joining me on this journey and she thankfully said yes.

So to Luke, Millie, Pat, Jav, Emma, Adelle and Carla thanks for willing to take a leap with me, and putting up with my slightly stressed brain.

So audience member, I hope you enjoy the experience we’ve attempted to create for you, from the story, to the tokens, the environment. Hopefully, you’ll stick around and see what Lunatix has to offer.
